Interesting Blog Article…
on February 20th, 2008 at 13:03Hello All;
I ran across an interesting Blog Article on the Traffic Exchange Scoop Blog today. It details information about a Traffic Exchange blocking members from Asian Countries.
Is it a right or wrong practice? I don’t know! But, there is something I do know. The abuse issues that originate from these countries is countless. I have found out first hand about it with my own traffic exchange, Hits Surf, and is the reason why I am reworking it to include GEO tracking for page displays.
The types of abuse that is found ranges from multiple account signups from a single user to a relentless amount of time spent surfing an exchange. The latter being a real pain in the rear for a small traffic exchange. Page-View credits can be used up in the blink of an eye with just 2 or 3 members from an Asian Country. This leaves a dark abyss in place of what was once a very healthy list of pages for ALL members to see. The former is just plain ol’ ignorant standard practice from a few people (Traffic Exchange Owners know who they are) designed to abuse a Traffic Exchange and cheat it out of money.
So, as a traffic exchange user, would you prefer limits being set on members from an Asian country? What kind of limits would you like to see? Surf limits? Blocking Members? And secondly, have you tracked your traffic exchange hits to determine if members of Asian countries are using up your Page-View credits?
Leave a comment and let the world know…
Take Care,
Phil
