First I’d like to say, that I like your traffic exchange reports … although your cookie system is dreadful at banning subscribers. I can sign up for the newsletter … and get a confirmation to TrafficExchangeExposed.com … which confirms the first time, and I do have access to see the latest report.
After a few days, I get a notice for the next report …. which I click on the link … and whammo … cookie error (which is not the case) … and my email is banned from the subscription. Cookies are always on (third party included).
This has occurred 4 times with 4 different email addresses, and each and ever time, the last email address gets banned. So as it stands now, (and I have confirmed this with others) … if I wish to see the latest reports … I have to use another email address and subscribe, click the confirm link (which works every time) … and read the report intently, because I know that this will be the only time that I have access to any future reports with that email.
I hope something can be improved Phil… or advised on this.
Thanks
Frustrated Camilla
Greetings Camilla;
I understand your frustration with the reporting system as it is designed at the moment. I have done the ol’ “Programmed Myself Into A Corner” thing with this by making it so restrictive. But, on the other hand, it does keep out the robots, page scrapers and data miners.
However, I can assure you Camilla that 100% of the problems are due to cookies being requested from your computer and them not being given to the Traffic Exchange Exposed server. In other words, you may have session cookies enabled but after you close the browser session you have a setting on your computer or a program running that will delete the cookies that were set during the browser session. It is the only way what you are experiencing can happen.
A few suggestions for you would include checking your browser settings. Make sure you are not deleting cookies when the browser closes. Also, check to see if there is a program running on your computer that manages cookies for you. turn it off if there is.
Look, I am not only the creator of the Traffic Exchange Exposed reporting system I am also a user. I access the data posted the same way others do by using the unique link in each of the newsletter issues. I go through all the cookie checks just like anybody else. The difference is I do not mess with my cookie file(s) in any way shape or form and allow the cookies to be stored on my computer inbetween browser sessions. I, and many others, have no problem viewing the data.
The way the system is designed now is very strict and that will not be changing. But, there are a few things I want to do that will take care of the problem in the near future. All I can ask of you right now is if you can not get in to see the data you can still gleen what you can on this website and hang in there for a little bit longer.
Keep checking for updates on this. It will be worth the wait.
Take Care,
Phil
