2009-03-24 At 14:47:Traffic Splash They corrected the HTML code here for the bonus page. Good Job Folks! Thanks for listening!

2009-03-24 At 13:27:Traffic Wonderland It looks like this TE is submitting Internet forms to other websites without my permission. I started a surf session here and came to a totally blank page. I looked at the HTML source of the page and found this:

BEGIN:::
<html>
<body>
<form name=”aweber” method=”post” action=”http://www.aweber.com/scripts/addlead.pl”>
<input type=”hidden” name=”meta_web_form_id” value=”717341548″>
<input type=”hidden” name=”meta_split_id” value=”">
<input type=”hidden” name=”unit” value=”twonderlandlist”>
<input type=”hidden” name=”redirect” value=”http://www.trafficwonderland.com/login.php”>
<input type=”hidden” name=”meta_redirect_onlist” value=”http://www.trafficwonderland.com/members/?page=main&login=yes&PHPSESSID=85d90da127ae9cb764c66f4298e0ace5″>
<input type=”hidden” name=”meta_adtracking” value=”register”>
<input type=”hidden” name=”meta_message” value=”1″>
<input type=”hidden” name=”meta_required” value=”from,name”>
<input type=”hidden” name=”meta_forward_vars” value=”1″>
<input type=”hidden” name=”aweber” value=”1″>
<input type=”hidden” name=”custom User ID” value=”XXXX”>
<input type=”hidden” name=”custom Username” value=”XXXXXXX”>
<input type=”hidden” name=”name” value=”XXXXXX”></td>
<input type=”hidden” name=”from” value=”XXXXXXXX@trackahit.net”></td>
</form>
<script type=”text/javascript”>
document.forms['aweber'].submit();
</script>
</body>
</html>
:::END

Look, I am all for using AWeber for your e-mail marketing needs if you can not figure out how to use your own server to do the same thing for free. I mean, Every traffic exchange has the ability of sending e-mail through their servers already. It is the false information out there that a TE can’t do it and the promise of making a few bucks promoting AWeber that gets me the most. With the pyramiding attitude prevalent many are moving over to the AWeber e-mail system without even developing what they already have at their fingertips for free.

But Hey, to each their own…

Back to the page in question here. As you can see, the HTML/JavaScript code above is submitting form data without the permission of the visitor with the line:
document.forms['aweber'].submit();

This is deadly dangerous people! You can not have this happen on your computer without your permission. If Traffic Wonderland is allowed to do it and you are not catching it like I did then you are opening yourself up to all kinds of abuse. You can not allow JavaScript to submit forms on their own and without your permission. Shut this down in your browser today!

Today it is submitting form data without your permission. What will it be tomorrow? Stand up for yourself folks. Don’t allow this to happen to you.

Let me know what you think! If there is something here you do or don’t agree with respond with a comment. Tell me about it!

Take Care,
Phil
