This is really funny! This is yet another great example of how a new traffic exchange basically commits suicide. Read on for more on this.
I get this Email:
Thank you for being a member of Pro Surfers 247! As you know the principal of our service is to exchange traffic between members. I have noticed that you have not been active lately and would like to encourage you to visit the exchange today and checkout what’s going on. We have competitions and special bonuses on offer and if you surf regularly you will receive more hits than those who don’t. Accounts not surfing for 30 days are deactivated until the account holder surfs again to continue receiving more hits.Your URLs will begin to receive more hits as soon as you login and begin surfing again. If you would rather not surf to promote your URL we have options for you too, please visit http://prosurfers247.com/?_w=tools.
Thank you. If you have any questions you can contact us at :

Okay, on its surface this seems to be a fairly harmless e-mail. It goes through the steps of telling me my account is suspended, it gives a reason why, and then it gives me a way of fixing it. No problem, right? Here is where it gets funny.
Take a look at this screen capture (click it for a larger view in a new window):
What is wrong with that picture? Do you see it?First, this traffic exchange has suspended an account of a person that really wants to use the traffic exchange. I mean, I like using traffic exchanges. I want to use this one and would like to see it be successful. I get a big kick out of seeing a TE grow out of nothingness.
Secondly, I still have 323 Hits assigned to my URL here. It should be noted that I do not use a TE if the number of assigned to a URL goes over 200 hits. It doesn’t make any sense to surf a TE if you have more than 200 hits assigned to a URL. Doing so will only create a larger amount of backlogged hits.
Thirdly, I have tried to reset the auto assign percentage to 100% but the script crapped out and wouldn’t do it. I log into each traffic exchange after I have seen 200 pages (clicks). When I log in I assign credits to my URLs, check out my Banner and Text ads, and see my referral data. I have found this is the best way for me to not go crazy managing accounts in over 130 Traffic Exchanges. If I didn’t do it this way I would be spending all day checking my traffic exchange accounts.
The fourth and most important part of this fiasco is the fact that I have already viewed 163 pages here. I have done my part to support the TE owner and this traffic exchange. Now it is up to other members to do their part to get this TE up and running.
Four problems, 323 Hits, Over 200 hits assigned, I can’t make the auto assign amount 100%, and I am a very active traffic exchange user if the TE disposes of the hits. I think this TE wants to end its life in the Internet.
What will be interesting is if this TE owner will recognize the problem and make the necessary changes before the traffic exchange dies. With TE owners doing stuff like this it is clear why a TE dries up and just fades away. New traffic exchanges can not do what the big boys do. They have to make very important decisions regarding the management of accounts. They have to identify what is right and wrong and also what will stimulate growth and not kill it.
It is my sincerest hope the Pro Surfers 24/7 owner sees this article and understands what I am conveying here. It is time to make some changes in the TE. It is time to turn it around. It is on life support right now and if the TE owner doesn’t do something the TE will join the hundreds of TE’s before it that went to the TE graveyard.
What am I going to do about this problem? Absolutely nothing! I just hope the TE owner sees this article and does the right thing.
Take Care,
Phil
